Solefield, founded in 1948, is situated in Solefields Road on the South side of Sevenoaks.
The grounds contain the main school buildings, a large floodlit playground (suitable for football, basketball and tennis). The playing fields are a short walk from the school.
Solefield is a Day Preparatory School for 195 boys. The school is divided into two sections: a Junior Department (Pre-Prep) for boys aged 4-7.5 and the Senior Department (The Preparatory School) for boys aged 7.5-13.5. Solefield has a strong tradition of academic excellence. Emphasis is placed on the 3 R's in a caring yet well-structured atmosphere with close contact maintained between parents and teachers.
The curriculum is directed to the Common Entrance examination or to Open Scholarships in the case of boys whose work shows exceptional ability.
The majority of our boys continue as day boys following the Common Entrance examination at thirteen. Many go on to Sevenoaks School, Tonbridge School and to the Grammar Schools by means of their senior entry. A smaller number go on to Independent Senior schools as boarders.
There is a full range of extra curricular activities including choir, orchestra, all major games, clubs and societies.
A new Hall was completed in April 1994 which comprises indoor cricket nets and new facilities for school play productions.
